Sometimes I have to wonder about my town

In the last post I mentioned the big uproar in Laurens. Friday morning, Wendie Ann Schweikert was arrested for two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. Her bond was set at $100,000 ($50,000/charge) at her bond hearing on Saturday. Now this morning I heard on the radio that a man posted a bond over the weekend for $136,000 for animal cruelty. Can you believe that animal cruelty seems to be a bigger crime than engaging in criminal sexual activity with a minor in Laurens? Greenville had the right idea, they have already issued a warrant for her act with the victim in Greenville County.

Somebody tell me what's goin' on

This morning the local radio station reported a house fire overnight. 2 bodies had been found and it looked to be a murder/suicide. That makes the 7th murder in Laurens in 2 months.

I found out this afternoon that an elementary teacher had been arrested for having sex with a 5th grade student. WHAT!! While watching the news they reported a 2nd grade student stabbed another student with a dart at another school in Laurens County. WTF!! There was also a segment about the house fire. It seems the sister of the (deceased) alleged murderer wanted everyone to know that her brother was a good man. Huh? Just when I thought it couldn't get any weirder, they reported that 2 people had been attacked by a rabid cat and that a rabid raccoon was found in the area. You don't say.

I don't know what the heck is going on around here. But I tell you what, I won't be drinking the water .

Not As Easy As It Looks

When I first began my blog I thought it would be easy. I mean how difficult is it to just post 8random thoughts? Hah! I haven't posted in a month, even longer on another blog. It's not that I don't have anything to say. Lord knows I have plenty to say. It's just that I haven't found an acceptable way to articulate it.

It's easy to just enter anything when you don't know anyone that may venture to your blog. But once people began to advertise your personal space (thanks a lot MOTHER!) then you have to begin to worry. Well at least I do. I constantly ask Does this make me sound ghetto? Is this too militant? Will someone perceive this as racist? By the time I finished censoring myself, I couldn't remember what I was originally writing about. Or better yet, I get an idea and begin writing about it. It seems like a good topic mentally but somehow by the time it appears on screen, I have to ask myself what the heck was I thinking. There really should be a warning label for newbie bloggers.

CAUTION: This isn't as easy as it looks.
